She began her acting career in Gujarati theatre, where she appeared in plays including Lali Lila and Kamal Patel vs. Dhamal Patel. She has appeared in Bollywood films like Devdas 2002, and Aishwarya and Abhishek’s Jodhaa Akbar in supporting roles (2008). Since 2008, she has starred as Dayaben Gada in the daily soap Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV. Mayur Vakan, who is her brother also performs as Sundarlal or Sundar, her on-screen sibling. In September 2017, she took maternity leave after the birth of her baby but unfortunately she did not step in to the industry again. After quitting the show, she disappeared from social media and television.
